Energy analyzer with the measurement of the leakage currents

The widespread use of measurements of the electrical currents in the last few years has greatly accelerated the development of the measurement procedures.

The company Control Applications Ltd. sets in the field of electrical measurements high standards  with highprecision scales 1,600 measurements per period. This makes it possible to develop new models of Multimeters in that can additionally to all standard electrical measurements (voltage , current, power factor, frequency , power consumption … ) also measure leakage currents . The new model Elnet LTP has with its performance and accuracy almost no competition. Two digital inputs which can accept the impulses of the other meters (water, gas , etc..) . The data can then be transmitted to SCADA, BMS.

Measurement of leakage currents is the best way to test the safety of electrical equipment. Electrical appliances or systems in which the leakage current is higher than the prescribed should be checked with a special test.

The Powermeter Elnet LTP is installed on the door of the switch block. The Powermeter measures permanently in addition to all other measurements also leakage currents. That is an additional measure of safety in the use of electrical equipment (eg. in medicine ). These measurements allow a relatively easy way to find the leak currents. The leakage currents are shown on the display. With stepwise switching off of the electric lines, the user can easily locate faults.

The device enables setting the maximum values of leakage currents. When the leakage currents exceed  this value, an alarm can be triggered, or a relay output can switch off an line.  The alarms can also be routed to a SCADA or BMS . From there they can be forwarded by SMS or email.
